 HOUSING MARKET "OPTIMISM"              

                                        

 Builders are expecting "steady" sales  

 growth in 1994 as the housing industry 

 continues its recovery from recession, 

 a Housebuilders Federation study shows.

                                        

 It shows one in three of the 400 firms 

 quizzed forecast growth of over 11%    

 while a further two in five estimated  

 growth of up to 10%.                   

                                        

 The federation said the Budget had not 

 been as bad as some buyers had feared.
