        ALLOWANCE                       

                                        

 DLA is a non means-tested, tax-free    

 benefit for chidlren and adults up to  

 the age of 65 who have substantial care

 or mobility needs and have needed care 

 for three mohths.                      

                                        

 For people who are terminally ill, the 

 three-month qualifying period is waived

                                        

 DLA is made up of two parts, the care  

 element and the mobility component.
