 SERBS LOSE GROUND TO MUSLIMS & CROATS  

 Bosnian Croat and Muslim forces, backed

 by the Croatian army, have made major  

 gains against the Serbs in central and 

 western Bosnia, according to the UN.   

                                        

 UN special envoy Yasushi Akashi said he

 believed the forces had taken the town 

 of Donji Vakuf and had opened up a     

 route between Tuzla and Zenica. See 162

                                        

 The situation looked very serious for  

 the Bosnian Serbs, the UN said. See 191

                                        

 Britain condemned the offensives. But  

 the Foreign Office denied the Croats   

 were being helped by NATO air raids    

 which have continued around Sarajevo.
