 MORE ARRESTS IN FRENCH BOMBS CLAMPDOWN 

 Police investigating bombings in France

 have detained 12 more people today for 

 questioning after a series of raids in 

 Paris and the south of the country.    

                                        

 Judicial sources said that 36 arrested 

 in the Paris region on Monday had been 

 freed without charge as no evidence was

 found linking them to the attacks.     

                                        

 But eight held in Lyon, including five 

 people in connection with a bomb on a  

 high-speed rail line, are expected to  

 be placed under investigation.         

                                        

 Since 25 July, six bomb blasts across  

 France have killed seven people.
