 BORDER CLOSED AFTER 100 DIE IN SHOOTING
 Zaire has closed the border with Rwanda
 close to where clashes between Hutu    
 rebels and Rwandan troops left over 100
 dead, including children and women.    
                                        
 A spokesman for the Tutsi-led Rwandan  
 government said the incident occurred  
 when government troops investigated a  
 roadblock set up by Hutu militiamen.   
                                        
 He said fighting broke out when the    
 Hutu militiamen opened fire. Villagers 
 in the north-western town of Gisenyi   
 were killed in the crossfire.          
                                        
 The spokesman said Rwandan troops who  
 used excessive force would be punished.
