 There was an unexpected fall in the    

 employment figures for August. Evan    

 Davis reports:                         

                                        

 The official unemployment figures have 

 now fallen for 24 consecutive months.  

                                        

 At 8.2% of the labour force, they are  

 the lowest rate for four years.        

                                        

 Indeed this morning saw a hat trick of 

 figures that auger well for progress on

 jobs and inflation.                    

                                        

 Now employment continues to grow, more 

 jobs were created in the second quarter

 of this year, despite economic slowdown
