 GLENAVON 0-2 WERDER BREMEN             

 Glenavon had goalkeeper Dermot O'Neill 

 to thank as he continually thwarted the

 Germans before two second-half goals   

 sank the plucky home side.             

                                        

 O'Neill had denied Bremen until the    

 59th minute but his heroic efforts were

 undone when Werder finally broke the   

 Glenavon resistance.                   

                                        

 The damage was done by Rodolfo Cardoso 

 who collected the ball outside the area

 before skipping past a challenge and   

 despatching a left foot shot home.     

                                        

 And then with a minute to go Angelo    

 Vier headed home to add the second.
