his interpretation of my letter is
ridiculous.
"I did not say, nor did I imply, that
hearing people make the best jurors
simply because they can hear.
"My point was that it is not fair to
the person on trial (deaf or hearing)
if one or more members of the jury need
to rely on a third party to convey the
proceedings, as this introduces a
margin for error that is not present
for those jurors who share the same
language/culture as the defendant."
